The MAGA Religion
By: Ivan4America –
The MAGA religion is a relatively new faith. What began as a simple campaign slogan in 2015 slowly evolved, and by 2020, it had become a full-fledged religion. Its congregants, the MAGAnites, follow the teachings of their prophet and savior, Donald J. Trump (DJT).
Core Principles
Total faith in the leader is required. In the eyes of the MAGAnite:
- DJT is the great and powerful one. His word is divine, and his god is the god of all gods.
- Critical thinking is heresy. Doubt is weakness; blind allegiance is strength.
- Dissent is blasphemy. Any opinion that contradicts the savior’s is wrong and misguided.
- Alternative realities must be purged. Stay vigilant against facts that threaten the doctrine.
- Non-believers are inferior. If you’re not a MAGAnite, you’re either a “liberal” or a “RINO” (Republican in Name Only), and your opinions are worthless.
- DJT is the infallible king of kings, and his will is absolute.
While most religions preach kindness, compassion, and forgiveness, the MAGA doctrine glorifies cruelty, callousness, and retribution. Empathy is seen as weakness; ruthlessness is celebrated as righteous strength.
America (the United States) is the promised land. “America First” doesn’t mean leadership—it means isolation. Despite being the wealthiest nation on Earth, aiding less fortunate countries is considered wasteful. Traditional allies are viewed as parasites, while autocrats are admired. The three branches of government? Mere obstacles delaying the savior’s divine will.
The MAGAnites
Mostly white, male, and older, MAGAnites are deeply conservative, fiercely patriotic, and often lack higher education. They are predominantly rural or small-town, lower-income, and harbor deep resentment toward societal changes, including:
- The declining white majority,
- Immigration from developing nations,
- The erosion of traditional religion,
- Globalization’s economic disruptions,
- Stagnant wages amid rising costs,
- The shift from manufacturing to a knowledge-based economy that favors urban elites.
MAGAnites despise mainstream media and its so-called “facts,” preferring conspiracy theories that validate their grievances—whether about COVID-19’s origins, the “deep state,” or the QAnon mythos. They see themselves as righteous warriors, uncompromising in their beliefs, and utterly convinced of their moral superiority.
Closing Thoughts
The MAGA religion thrives on grievance, nostalgia, and the intoxicating allure of a strongman’s promises. It replaces scripture with tweets, prophets with pundits, and salvation with slogans. Yet, like all dogmatic movements, its greatest weakness is reality—an inconvenient truth that, sooner or later, even the most fervent faith cannot ignore. Until then, the MAGAnites march on, mistaking zeal for wisdom, rage for righteousness, and a golden idol for a god.
