The conservative movement in America is growing and fear plays a big part in this growth. Today’s GOP wants you to be afraid. Be afraid of immigrants, be afraid of the press, be afraid of your own government, be afraid vaccines, be afraid of runaway crime, (ignore crime statistics, they are all manipulated by the libs). Speaking of libs, most of all, be afraid of these deep state liberals.
Don’t believe me? Spend 10 minutes on Truth Social. Listen to a Joe Rogan podcast or two. Read the Epoch Times, look at Newsmax online. Joe the Bro Rogan has the most popular podcast in
America. Newsmax is going public, conservative website, Redstate is one of the fastest growing websites in America. These guys all make Fox News look like a liberal news channel and obviously, people are eating it up. One thing they all have in common? They are selling fear. They make you afraid and then tell you who can fix it. (Donald Trump is obviously the only guy who can).
So What do we Have to be Afraid of?
These gangs of unnamed Venezuelans were going to wreak havoc on your town but Donald Trump stopped them and sent them where they belong. He did anyway until the judge, appointed by the George Soros funded deep state liberal menace said trump has to follow due process. The NERVE!
Trump’s second term has seen fear used to silence critics (e.g., targeting law firms, universities, scientists). Conservatives portray progressive movements (BLM, LGBTQ+ rights, DEI programs) as attacks on “traditional values,” framing them as a total societal collapse to be afraid of.
Even the press isn’t safe. The New York Times has now been “failing”, according to Trump for close to a decade, longer than most of Trump’s businesses last. CNN is a enemy of the people and at times, he has even turned on Fox News. Can’t trust the “lame stream” media so instead we get 35 year old men who live in their mom’s basement promoting made up bullshit and packaging it as “news”.

And let’s not forget the conspiracies swept under the carpet by the deep state.

While maybe not all are promoted by these far right “news” sources, they spend no time correcting people either. And this sells fear, we can’t trust anyone. Vaccines are bad, so we have a measles outbreak. How long until Polio is back? Climate change is real, but “drill baby drill” will solve all of our problems. Despite no evidence, claims of “stolen elections” stoke fear of democratic decay, justifying restrictive voting laws that deny citizens their constitutional right to vote. Peddling fear has long term repercussions for our country.
I live in a midsize US city. There has not been a murder in our neighborhood, no roving bands of immigrants, and to my knowledge, very little crime. We live in peace, have fun, drink beer, play golf, live life and go to the movies all without incident, on a regular basis. I don’t feel that I need tactical gear and disaster supplies to be safe. I am not going to treat the talking heads on from either side of the political landscape as fact, and neither should you.
Fear may win elections, but only hope can sustain a nation
